Final Project
For this piece i wanted to incorportae both soul and physical body. The Physical piece being the white mask which is static. The Soul portion i did the Dragon which is more dynamic and flowing. I also wanted to incorporate this into the background as well. The green circular dragon being more flowing and flexible, with the red arrow or slash being precise for its location.
I wanted one side to be for precise and static than the other side. I used Shading and more complex style techniques for the left side of the face such as shading and used multiple brush styles to create precise points and lines. For the dragon side i used Oil pastel at first to give it a dynamic look to where you can see the variation of color for the skin to make it look more moving and flowing. I used many lines to create movement for the dragon to look constantly moving. I used Contrast on the eye socket along with the mouth and horn of the white mask to give a bit of shading and definition.
I wanted to give a story of that When we wear a mask we hide what we can actually be which is free flowing and dynamic. The Dragon could also symbolize inner strength which can be stored away behind a mask. I wanted to create a piece that could be defined in many ways. From the background of Sharp red and a free flowing dragon to the foreground image of the dragon mask. This also can be given as you yourself can be the light to the darkness of the world as seen in the background to where the middle center is more light than the outer area.
If I could fix anything, I would definitely fix the taping i did to protect the middle from paint since it came out blocky from the tape. I would have also maybe given the dragon a more less firey mane.
Typography Project
This project was based of a line from an antagonist named Handsome Jack from a game called Borderlands to emphasize how he saw himself and others. I made the typography correlate to various words in the quote.
I wanted to make his final word to be the boldest and biggest due to it correlates to himself. Jack found himself to be a Hero regardless of his actions along with being a king so i made the word Hero biggest and grandest. He found those beneath him to be Bandits and bad so I used a gradient to black coloring of bold letters for these words. I transferred from red to gold due to their personality changes along the game from being true bandits to becoming good guys. I made the "I" blue and glitchy due to his abilities with computers and technology.
I wanted to give a story to the words and the typography i gave to them. I wanted the words Bandits and Bad guys to be linked, So I gave them a black gradient linking to the other to transition from bandits to "Bad guys" as is which Jack calls the true heroes. I made the Word "Hero" to emphasized what the Antagonist saw himself as. So overall I'm creating this piece as if it were from Jacks perspective seeing himself as a Godly hero, because of what he wants his overall goal is, regardless of how many lives he takes.
If I could change anything, I would change the colors a little by making them more colorful and vibrant for the letter "I" and adding more variations of blue and maybe some slight purple along with a more static look. I'd also want to emphasize hero as well and give it a more heroic look by making it bolder and have some vibrancy and make it stand out more.

Open Choice Project
This was to symbolize a character from a game by showing the sacrifices he made to get to where he was now. I wanted to show what he lost to help himself get to where he needed to be. I also wanted to give the expression of determinism. I also wanted to incorporate a space theme so i wanted to make it look as if he was space himself or the king of space.
I used a lot of colored pencil gradiency for the one colored eye and i used some as well for the skin to highlight and darken certain areas. I also used Watercolor and blending to make it have that space like effect. I used Oil pastel to blend for the orange skin burn with red to darken the outer area. I used a bit of negative space for the background as well to give it a lighter and more astral effect rather than just applying stars almost everywhere. I used blending with white ink and white colored pencil to make sure the blind eye wasn't extremely bright.
There was no real story to this piece rather than to create one of my favorite characters and show what he hides under his mask which displays his scar that gave him the determinism to "help" the world. I wanted to attempt at watercolor when i started this and i trailed off into creating a face in space like some old 80's spray painting on the side of a hippie van. I mostly wanted to display the "king" of space as this powerful entity who cannot be defeated.
I Don't think I would change anything about this piece since i feel it is one of my better pieces ive created. If anything i'd highlight the skin a bit more along with making the Eyebrows vary with more tones of color for the effect of hair.

Character model
The original idea for this project was to show a girl getting pierced by some form of projectile. It was going to start with the head but that would be too graphic for my taste. So instead i went with the idea of a body shot to where the soul has become pierced. Out of the pierce mark would flood out her thoughts and creations.
I came up with this by first starting with the girl. I then went onto how water reacts as if it was held into a container and was suddenly let go. after i did this i began to sketch the leading elements of the creations, the prime one being the dragon which represents the symbol of power for her creations. I made her black and white lacking any color to emphasize the background and her creations which symbolize how someone as normal and boring looking can hold a colorful mind with them.
I used a lot of color for this. Not only for blending and mixing but as darkened lines for auras seeping out from her body. I used movement for her body and hair as if she was falling backwards and which way her hair would go if someone fell backwards. I used a little bit of shading when it came to the dragons wings and the horse to add a little emphasis.
The story isn't much. Its basically describing anyone among us as boring and black and white as all of us can hold many ideas that could change the world. It could also mean that nothing is seen from someone until they're gone, nobody sees what someone is made of until their final moments.
If i could change anything, i would definitely make the background more space like and blend the colors better with the flood of creations.

Visual Narration
Visual Narration
My start idea was to make my character/creature look fierce since it looks like a wingless dragon (a drake). I also wanted it to look like it had a purpose for it action instead of a mindless action. This was also one of my projects i wanted to color instead of leaving it black and white pencil sketching.
I came up with the idea of this creature by thinking of a different layout for a dragon head since most i draw are slim looking and i wanted this one to be a more bulky looking dragon. I also got the idea for this creature by a creature called a Deathclaw from Fallout 4. I started out with the head and continued downwards the body from shoulders to tail. I also gained ideas for a pouncing animation by looking for pictures of cats jumping, more specifically for the back legs portion.
I used line for both the deer and the creature along with the grass. Since i had originally not planned to color it i had darkened the outlinings of the creature to emphasize him. Considering i hadn't drawn the deers hooves i decided to darken and add more variations of green to darken the portion by its feet. I also blended color in the deers fur to give it a variation of color so it looks more colorful than a bland looking brown and white deer. I also strived for movement in the creatures jump so it doesn't look as if hes floating in the air. Another thing i used was Proportion so it isnt a lopsided drake.
This was a creature i have been thinking of for a while and i imagined it being a ferocious demon. Since it has recently escaped captivity it still has its chain links around its arms and legs. It now has freedom to act like any normal beast. So the first priority any beast on this earth has, is to eat. It just so happens the deer is the first thing he sees.
If there was anything i could fix, it would probably be the scenery. The stone mountainous wall on the right could probably be edited. The scenery could probably edited to make a more sensible area than just a rock wall and suddenly a field of grass.

Choice Art
This picture is based off of a character from Overwatch named Zenyatta. He is basically a robot Gandhi. He basically is an incarnation of peace and harmony which intrigued me and he was always so symmetrical so i wanted to draw a picture of this character as balanced and symmetrical as i could.
I started off by drawing a line to try and create equal proportions of the body on both sides of the line. Once i started that i looked at reference pictures to get all his mechanical body accessories down which also helped in my symmetry. I also added cracking or a shattering effect to his body which also involved the shards having to fit like a puzzle together if they were placed together. I outlined the main part of his body darker than the other six arms to emphasize his true body instead of his spiritual form. I also gave him colors that a robot would have, metallic colors of course such as grey and gold with hints of blue for his lights. I darkened the coloring by the outlines to give him a shine and rounded effect. His orbs were also colored to become rounded looking and share the same color palette as his Lotus flower which i added symmetry to the petals to make it balance directly behind him.
This character is a peacemaker, so I figured that if he died his teaching would pass to his disciples. However if his disciples began to ignore and forget his teachings, his rememberance would begin to shatter and fade away over time as he is lost within the thoughts of war instead of peace.
If i could change anything I would add more Hindi symbols to help represent him as a character and his beliefs.

Charcoal
When I was thinking of what to do for my charcoal piece I was trying to think of what could be easily found as black and white. A zebra had crossed my mind but I thought of something more sinister and monster like, The Slenderman.
I had seen various pictures of him. Some had depicted he had Regular arms, some displayed blades, some showed him with regular arms and gooey tendrils and some just displayed him with Tendril arms. I had gone with a mix of both the blade and tendrils for both his arms and legs. I gave him a more defined face for having no face by darkening areas where his cheeks would be. I had used shadow as a way to tell where his brow or eyes would be if he had those. I darkened the trees around him to make it defined with the dark mist i had applied around the Slenderman. I darkened his suit and tendrils to also make him stand out from the rest of the region. I made him a bit hunched to give him a hunting position for movement as if he were hunting for something or someone.
I never really had a story for him as much as trying to make him sisnister and look as if he was lurking within the woods. I would imagine that if his mouth was ripped open he would be agitated and persistent on trying to find his prey who hides amongst his forest.
I would probably add more detail to his mouth or arms to give him a more fierce look that makes him look as if hes going to terrify anybody that sees him. Maybe make a more blended look with the grey background to make it look foggy.
